Changelog

What's new in Course Mark

New features, improvements and fixes, newest first.

  • New
    A new name: Course Mark

We have a new name, a new logo and a new home at coursemark.co. Everything works just as before, and older links to your courses and shop still take people to the right page.

  • Improved
Set your price on the Sales page

Add your course price in Price & buy button, right where it shows on your page, before you connect Stripe. Until there's a price, your buttons just show their text instead of "Free".

  • Fixed
The live preview shows every font you pick

On the Sales page tab, the live preview could keep showing the fonts your page opened with after you picked new ones. Each font you pick now shows in the preview right away.

  • New
    Help guides

Step-by-step guides for adding sales tax, offering discount codes and letting buyers pay over time with Klarna and Afterpay. Find them under Help in the website's footer, or from Publish, step 2 (Get paid).

  • Fixed
    100% off discount codes

A buyer who uses a code for the whole price now gets their access email, and shows in your sales and students, like any other buyer.

  • New
    Help for your students

Your course's login page has Trouble getting in? Get help, and there's a Help button inside your course. They answer the questions students usually email you about, like where the password is or why a video won't play, in your colours, with your support email at the end.

  • New
Students can get their password again

A student who's lost your course password can click Forgot it? on your course's login page, and we'll email them the course link and password, as long as they're one of your students.

  • New
    Something's not working? Start here

A troubleshooting page for the most common problems, and ten new guides, from your first course to custom domains. The Help button now suggests guides for your question, and messages in the builder link to the fix.

  • New
    Help guides in your dashboard

Every help guide is now in your dashboard too: click Help guides in the sidebar. Start with Something's not working, or pick a topic, and read the steps without leaving Course Mark.

  • New
    Search the help guides

Type a word like password, Klarna or DNS on the Help guides page in your dashboard, and jump straight to the step that answers it.

  • Fixed
    Font choices stick

Picking a heading font and then a body font straight after could quietly keep your old body font, so your sales page didn't change. Every font you pick in Brand settings is now saved, in the order you picked them.

  • New
    Choose your own fonts

Pick any heading font and body text font from more than 35 Google fonts, or start from one of the six pairs. Change them in Brand settings, or right on the Sales page tab under Page design.

  • New
    A new checkout page

Your checkout now shows your logo, your course and your sales page testimonials on a soft panel in your colour, beside the payment form. Show add-ons as "Yes, add" boxes or picture cards, with an optional picture for each, in the Publish tab under Get paid.

  • Fixed
Sales and checkout pages open again

Opening a course at its short address (coursemark.co/your-course) could show "redirected you too many times" instead of the page. Sales, checkout and course pages load normally again, and so do shops and custom domains.

  • Fixed
    Connect Stripe again after testing

If your Stripe connection was set up while Course Mark was in testing, the Publish tab showed an error. It now offers Connect Stripe again, so you can set up a connection that takes real payments.

  • New
Discount codes and sales tax at checkout

Let buyers use discount codes you make in Stripe, and have Stripe Tax add GST/HST or sales tax from each buyer's address. Switch either on in the Publish tab, under Get paid. Receipts show the discount and the tax.

  • Improved
    A new Course Mark logo

Course Mark has a new logo, in the builder, on the website and in the emails we send you. The login screen has new artwork to match.

  • Improved
Our emails match the new look

Login links, sale alerts and other emails from Course Mark now use the same soft colours as the builder. Emails to your students still use your own brand.

  • Improved
    A calmer, more colourful look

Course Mark has a fresh look in soft pastels, with a lighter sidebar and a colour for each page. Your Home page shows your numbers on coloured cards. Everything is right where it was.

  • Fixed
The builder fits your phone screen

Your course's pages, and the lesson editor's Done button, no longer spill off the side of a phone.

  • Improved
Sales pages fit more on phones

The top of your sales page is tighter on phones, so visitors see your photo sooner, right under your headline and button.

  • New
    Your dashboard

The builder now opens on Home: your students, sales and questions waiting for a reply across all your courses, recent activity, and a short checklist to get set up. A sidebar takes you to Courses, Students, Community, Shop, Custom domain and Brand.

  • New
All your students and questions in one place

The Students page lists everyone in every course: add students to any course, email someone their access again, or remove them, with a search and a spreadsheet download. The Community page shows every student question, with the ones waiting for your reply first.

  • Improved
    Clearer "are you sure?" boxes

Questions like "Remove this student?" or "Delete this module?" now appear in Course Mark's own style, with buttons that say exactly what happens, and in red for anything that removes or deletes. On phones they slide up from the bottom.

  • New
    Your own shop

One page with all your published courses, in your brand, at an address like coursemark.co/your-business. Set it up from My courses. Every course shows by default; untick Show in my shop on a course's Publish tab to leave it out. Free for everyone.

  • New
Show your shop on your own domain

With the Custom domain add-on, your domain's main address can now show your shop with all your courses, instead of one course.

  • Improved
    Shorter course addresses

Your courses now live at coursemark.co/your-course, without the /c/. Links you've already shared keep working and take people to the new address.

  • New
Ask for help from the builder

Click Help on My courses, or in the sidebar while you work on a course. Your question comes to us with your account and course attached, so you don't have to explain which one, and we reply by email.

  • New
    Add students yourself

On the Students tab, add people by email: someone who paid you another way, a gift, or a client. Mark them as Paid if you like, and Course Mark can email them their course link and password in your branding.

  • New
Preview your course as you build

Click Preview course on the Lessons tab, or Preview in the lesson editor, to see your whole course exactly as students will, without publishing or a password.

  • Improved
    A tidier lesson editor

The lesson title and text now line up with the cards above them, your writing sits on a white card, and a Save button replaces the student-style Previous and Mark complete buttons. Adding a divider or other block no longer jumps you back to the top of the lesson.

  • Improved
Updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

They now cover buying Course Mark online, the Custom domain add-on and a 14-day refund on Course Mark and its add-ons. Read the Terms and Privacy Policy.

  • New
    Kommodo videos in lessons

Paste a Kommodo recording link, including one on your own Kommodo domain, and it plays in your lesson with your branded player.

  • New
    Choose your button text colour

In Brand settings, pick Automatic, White or Dark text for your buttons. Turn on "Use my exact colours" to keep your colours exactly as you set them. The preview warns you if something is hard to read, but never stops you.

  • New
    Three more font pairings

Bright & confident (Plus Jakarta Sans + Inter), Bold & editorial (Fraunces + DM Sans) and Warm & playful (Fredoka + Nunito).

  • Improved
    Custom domains connect more reliably

Course Mark now checks your domain with a real secure connection and re-checks it whenever you open the Custom domain screen.

  • Improved
    A roomier checkout

The Buy Course Mark page has its own payment form, so the payment area lines up with the add-ons above it. Discount codes have their own box.

  • New
    Buy Course Mark online

Buy at coursemark.co/buy and we email you a link to create your account. No access code needed.

  • New
    Custom domain add-on

Put your courses on your own web address, like learn.yourbusiness.com. $20 CAD, one time, for every course. How it works.

  • Improved
Emails show the Course Mark logo

Login links, welcome emails and sale notifications now carry our proper logo.

  • New
    Questions under every lesson

Students ask questions right where they get stuck, and you get an email for each one. Free for every course. Learn more.

  • New
    Community add-on

A Community page inside your courses for wins, hellos and questions, with pinned posts and reactions. $50 CAD, one time.

  • New
    Four sales page designs

Classic, Editorial, Bold and Soft, plus background colours and textures for each section. See them.

  • New

Tick a box when you publish to list your course at coursemark.co/courses.

  • New

  • New

  • New
    Try an example course

One click adds a finished demo course to explore.

  • Improved
    A calmer lesson editor

A slimmer lesson list, one toolbar, starter cards, and a + and / menu for adding blocks.

  • New
    Course Mark is born

The builder, lesson editor, live sales page editor and hosting, all in one place.
