Where your videos can live
- YouTube and Vimeo: free, and familiar to most students.
- Loom, Bunny Stream, Wistia or Kommodo.
- Or a direct link to a video file ending in .mp4, .webm or .m4v.
Links need to start with https://.
Add a video
Upload it and set its privacy
On YouTube, set the video to Unlisted, not Private: private videos won't play for your students. On Vimeo, Unlisted works too. If you limit where a Vimeo video can be embedded, add coursemark.co, and your own domain if you have one.
Copy the share link
On the video's page, click Share and copy the link. Use the link to the video itself, not to a playlist or channel.
Paste it into your lesson
Open the lesson and click Add a lesson video at the top, or add a Video element anywhere in the lesson, then paste the link.
Good to know
- Seeing "I don't recognise that link"? Use the share link from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Kommodo, Bunny or Wistia, starting with https://.
- Course Mark checks every lesson's video link when you publish, and names any lesson whose link it can't play.
- Videos are only as private as the service hosting them: anyone with an unlisted link can watch it.
- Course Mark can't see a video's privacy setting, so open a lesson in your course in a private window to check it plays.
