Save a backup
Open the course
Open the course you want to back up.
Click Save backup
It's at the bottom of the course's sidebar. A file named after your course, ending in -backup.json, downloads.
Keep it somewhere safe
The file holds your whole course, including its password and the key that controls it, so treat it like a password.
Add a backup back
On Courses, click Add from backup and choose the file. If the course is still in your account, Course Mark asks before replacing it: click Replace with backup to go back to that copy.
Good to know
- Images stay online and the backup keeps their links, so it's a small file.
- Download a copy, under "Prefer to host it yourself?" on the Publish tab, is something else: a .zip of the course for hosting on another website, without its sales page.
- If Course Mark says This course changed somewhere else, Download my version saves a backup of what's on this device before you load the latest version.
