Release lessons over time

Give students one module at a time: each module can open a number of days after a student joins, or on a date you choose.

  1. Open the Lessons tab

    Each module has a line under its description: Students get this module, set to right away to start with.

  2. Choose when it opens

    Pick a number of days after they join and type the number of days, or on a date and choose the date. A date opens at midnight where you are.

  3. Publish your changes

    Go to Publish and click Publish changes. Students see the new schedule straight away, and it counts from when each of them joined, even if they joined before you set it.

  4. Check it as a student

    Add yourself on the Students tab and open the login link we email you. Modules that aren't open yet show with a lock and the date they open, and the last open lesson says when the next module opens.

Good to know

  • A student joins when they buy your course, when you add them on the Students tab, or the first time they open it, whichever came first.
  • Students can see the titles of modules and lessons that aren't open yet, so they know what's coming. The lessons themselves only reach them once the module opens.
  • Students aren't emailed when a module opens. Let them know your schedule in your welcome lesson.
  • Preview course shows you every lesson, with a note on the modules students get later.
  • A downloaded copy of your course (Prefer to host it yourself?) has every lesson open.
